The Mark Knowles Celebrity Tennis Invitational is a Charity Event hosted by Mark. It was first held in 2001. The event is held in December and is at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island at Nassau (New Providence), Bahamas. The purpose of the event is to raise money for various charities, such as The Sassoon Pediatric Heart Foundation, The Cancer Society, The Association of the Physically Disabled, The Childrens Emergency Hospital, The Boy Scouts of Bahamas, The Special Olympics and scholarships for promising junior tennis players. 2011 Event Information is now avaliable! The event will be held December 1-4 at the Atlantis Resort and Casino, Paradise Island. Please see below for more information about the event, sponsorship opportunities, and prior event photos. ATLANTIS PARADISE ISLAND 1-4 DECEMBER 2011 10th August 2011 Dear Tennis Supporter,This year, after all the excitement of celebrating our 10th Anniversary last year, we are already making plans to surpass last years success when we were able to donate over $100,000 to the children's charities. This brought our total donations to over $600,000 and some of the charities who have benefited include the Sassoon Pediatric Heart Foundation, the Cancer Society, The Association of the Physically Disabled, The Boy Scouts of the Bahamas, the Special Olympics and scholarships for promising junior tennis players. We do hope that you will participate in our annual event as it is the generosity of our sponsors that helps make it such a success and enables these charities to continue their work. We will once again have world class tennis professionals coming to our shores and the past years line-up reads like a Whos Who of Professional tennis with names such as Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, James Blake, Bob and Mike Bryan, Jennifer Capriati, Andy Murray, Fred Stolle to mention just a few.Activities will include a pro exhibition which offers a wonderful opportunity to see the top pros in action and relax on a pleasant afternoon with colleagues and clients. There will be a Welcome Dinner; Cocktail Reception and Calcutta Auction which is always a fun evening and gives you a chance to bid on the pro/am teams. The pro am doubles offers amateurs a rare chance to play with the pros and please note there will be a maximum of 14 places available for platinum sponsors ($10,000). In addition, we plan to organize some tennis clinics with the professionals.
